Travel Information
Where to stay
Marrakech is a fairly small city with loads of accommodation options.
We recommend staying close to the city centre so you can explore easily (restaurants, souks, cafes, sights), and you’ll still be well placed for weekend events.
We have made some recommendations in the Travel and Stay section but please do your research before booking (read recent reviews, check the exact location, and whether it’s walkable / taxi-accessible).
Ceremony location
Our ceremony will take place around 20 minutes from the city centre (shown on the map).
Exact venue details will be shared the day before (a little element of surprise ✨).
Welcome Party location (BE Agafay)
BE Agafay is approx. 45 minutes from the city centre, so staying central is ideal — you’ll get the best of both: city exploring + easy transfers out to Agafay.
Getting around Marrakech
-
Taxis are common (especially for short hops). Always agree the fare before you go.
-
Your hotel/riad can call taxis or help arrange a driver if you want to avoid negotiating.
-
If you’re staying in the medina, some streets are car-free — you may walk a few minutes with luggage, so consider packing light.
Money + payments
-
Currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD).
-
Many places take card, but cash is king for taxis, markets, tips, and smaller cafes.
-
ATMs are easy to find in the city centre.
Weather (October)
October is usually warm and sunny, but evenings can cool down, especially in the desert.
Bring:
-
light summer outfits for daytime
-
a light jacket / shawl for nights (Agafay especially)
-
comfy shoes (cobblestones + souks)
